Hi There!
This has been a great year for Guitar Aid. Two missions to Africa, as well as, trips to Eastern Europe. The most significant thing, was the opening of Guitar Aid’s new home. To celebrate this we brought over the Timothy Worship Band from Slovakia. It was truly a memorable time. With the new facilities, “giving with generosity” has been our theme.
GUITAR AID NEW FACILITY
For a long time I’ve believed that the next step for Guitar Aid is to have our own premises. I had looked at buying a garage and many other options. Who would have believed that the answer was right on my doorstep! No longer do I need to repair and restring guitars in my front room. I now have a purpose built, two level apartment, right next to my house. To celebrate opening this new facility, we invited Timothy Worship Band from Slovakia, for a celebration event. Combined with an official opening, with long time friend Marian Lipovsky cutting the ribbon. Since opening, I’ve had many visitors and have been able to spend quality time, with them. This facility has greatly increased our giving. Many boxes of guitars have already been sent from here.
TOGO MISSION
It was a privilege to travel to Togo with Leigh Goodwin, representing AOG GB, and visiting a country that I first went to 12 years ago. We attended a graduation ceremony at the Bible College, along with a large number of students and their families. The worship was led by a keyboard, drums and a bass guitar. To my delight, I found that the guitar was one I had brought with my brother John, twelve years ago! Imagine, for all that time the guitar has been used regularly for worship. We had the opportunity to visit one of our missionaries that is working in a remote village, raising up a Church and a School for the locals. During our time there, we were able to give guitars and share God’s word at various churches , always receiving a warm welcome.
SLOVAKIA & HUNGARY
We were delighted to be able to go to Campfest Slovakia, to share how God has led us with Guitar Aid. We also shared the stage with Jeremy from Ireland, whose involvement had enabled Youth for Christ to buy the ranch that hosts Campfest. We left Slovakia and moved on to Hungary. It is hard to describe the excitement and anointing we felt when visiting one of the Gypsy churches in the Debrecen area. We had been there eleven years ago and left three guitars. Here we were, many years later, seeing the same guitars used to great effect.
KENYA MISSION with Riverside Church
Our reason for visiting Kenya, was to help support the vision of an amazing lady from our Church. Rose had the vision to start Riverside Church in Kenya. This vision was now reality and we couldn’t wait to see the fruit of her faith. While there, I had the privilege of visiting the home of the child I sponsor through Compassion. This was a moving experience. I met his mum and family, I also gave him a guitar and an Exeter City Football shirt. After years of sponsoring, it was so good to finally meet up.
SPONSORING WORSHIPPERS
Since 1990, we have been providing instruments to many individuals, youth groups and churches. Over 3,400 instruments have now been given, for the purpose of worship. Next year marks 30 Years of giving! We are planning to celebrate this milestone. If you would like to be part of what we are doing, why not consider being a sponsor. For £7 a month, you can have the satisfaction of knowing you are sowing into this growing ministry.
